The future of privacy - today

Dear Participants,

We, the Commissioners who make up the Plenum of the National Institute for Transparency, Access to Information and Personal Data Protection, are pleased to welcome you to the 46° Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities Forum, in the Port of Manzanillo, Colima, from November 30 to December 2nd 2016.

It will be a great pleasure to receive in Mexico for the first time different national and subnational Privacy and Personal Data Protection Authorities from the Asia–Pacific region such as Australia, Canada, Colombia, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, South Korea, United States of America and Uruguay, as well as the Special Administrative Regions of Hong Kong and Macau.

For this edition, a relevant agenda with international cutting-edge issues has been prepared which will enable to promote a purposing high-level dialogue on topics such as the regulation of personal data protection, self-regulation schemes, dispute resolution and international cooperation mechanisms.

We are sure that this edition of the Forum will meet your expectations to strengthen the culture of data protection and privacy.
